Giant Cat and Dog
Winter is really here now as I trek around with Trudi in my moon boots in what feels like knee high slush and snow.
With our recent dump of over 25 cm of snow, the snowpet building crew has been out and busy, and it seems that the days of merely making a simply snowman are gone.
Instead giant size domesticated pets are the new trend!

Peanut
This is Peanut, or Cacahuète in French. He is a miniature Schnauzer and one of Trudi's friends. Admittedly, I've always thought that Schnauzers resemble gruff old men with hairy eyebrows and unkept beards and thus, have never been drawn to them. But I do like dogs with character and in the last 6 months, I have come to love Peanut and his loyal, alert and spirited personality. As well, the long beard and crazy eyebrows are a must for this breed. They look just ridiculous without them!

Trudi - 6 months later
After having a good laugh at Seth Casteel's Underwater Dogs photo series, I was inspired yesterday to play with my 10mm lens with Trudi as my subject. I have always loved wide angles and especially how the resulting distortion from such a lens can create a funny image, such as those of Mr. Casteel.
In this session, I initially hoped to capture the humorous and playful side of my dog. Trudi was however less than impressed at having a big glass instrument clicking in her face while she was trying to rest and instead, she gave me wonderful series of indifferent expressions to laugh at.
